We foster the bond between mom and baby by offering 3 rooming-in modalities.

24-Hour Rooming-In

The baby stays in the room with mom throughout the stay. Promotes immediate breastfeeding, emotional bonding and mom's confidence in caring for her newborn.

Morning and Evening Rooming-In

The baby alternates between mom's room and the nursery according to established shifts. Allows mom to rest while the baby is cared for by nursing staff.

Nursery Stay

The baby stays in the nursery area under the supervision of specialized staff. Mom can visit and breastfeed her baby during established hours.

Complete Schedule

We answer the most common questions about your stay at La Bene Maternity.

What are the visiting hours?

From 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.

If I have major medical insurance (SGMM), how do I file a claim with the insurer?

We have trained staff in the insurance agreements area who will help you with your claim, as we have agreements with the majority of insurers in the country.

If my insurance has a limited coverage amount, will it be enough?

Regardless of the insured amount, we honor the promotional price for direct payment.

Does the insurer cover my baby's expenses?

This would need to be arranged with the corresponding insurer, as each insurer has different conditions when the baby is healthy.

If I am admitted to the room after delivery in the early morning hours, when does my stay start counting?

Your stay will be counted starting from the following night.

Can my partner be present during delivery?

Yes, as long as the doctor authorizes and coordinates it.

When is the newborn screening (tamiz) performed?

Within a period no longer than 72 hours, in coordination with your pediatrician. It is performed at Laboratorios Lister (La Bene) and at the medical office (auditory). In the nursery you will be given a form for scheduling.

Can they pierce my baby's ears?

Yes. On discharge day you must bring the earrings (they must be "stud" type with a pointed tip) to the nursery nurse. After discharge they are no longer placed.

If my pregnancy becomes complicated, do you have what is needed to care for me?

Yes. We have an intensive care area, as well as all the necessary services to care for your health and that of your baby.

What is the maximum number of people who can visit me in the room?

2 people at a time during the day.

Can children enter the room?

By regulation, children under 12 years of age are not permitted. However, in the maternity area access may be authorized for a minor under the responsibility of the accompanying adult.

How many people can stay overnight with me?

One person.

If I am having multiple births, can I purchase the maternity package?

Yes, however the materials and medications for the additional baby are charged separately.

Do you have a civil registry service?

We do not have this service, but our customer service and/or public relations staff can provide you with the requirements and contact information.

Which vaccines are administered?

Hepatitis B (in the nursery) and BCG (an appointment must be scheduled at the vaccination module and availability checked).

What if my doctor is not registered at La Bene?

They must come and register at the medical management office.
